What We Offer

Kitty Chelton MFT and Theresa Beldon MFT joined together 15 years ago to integrate their years of experience and expertise in Body Oriented Psychotherapies.   They integrate the teachings of Lomi Body psychotherapy and Bodynamic Analysis with their own material gained from many years of experience practicing somatics.  Under the name “Body Wisdom Psychotherapy”, they offer many different training options for therapists and body workers to learn how to use Somatics (Body oriented techniques and Theory) in their work.  They have also both studied PACT – Psychobiological Approach to Couple’s Therapy with Stan Tatkin Psy.D. and Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Emerson.

Some of their CEU courses for therapists are;

  • Healing in Community/Somatics in Group Therapy
  • Healing in Relationship/Somatics in Couple’s Therapy
  • Dipping Beneath The Surface/Somatics in Supervision
  • The Body Knot/A Somatic Communications Model

“SOMATICS IN ACTION”, the Intensive Body Oriented Therapy training program,  prepares participants to recognize and understand developmental injury and to know how to bring in somatic interventions appropriately to offer corrective experiences and access new resources.

Theresa and Kitty also work in many other settings including:

  • temporary visits to preexisting groups in order to restructure the dynamics and create more safety and satisfaction within the group
  •  leading ongoing Therapy and Consultation groups.
  • Teaching brief Somatics Trainings at training clinics

They have extensive group experience and have offered institutes on “Healing in Community” at the Northern Ca Group Psychotherapy Conference in 2008 through 2011 and 2015.
